Using the YZ450F as a starting point, our experienced development team - including Kiwi race team manager and Yamaha legend Josh Coppins - came up with an enduro weapon that turns, stops and goes better than ever before. The WR450F produces bulk power but transmits that power to the ground in a more controllable manner with additional traction at both wheels.
Sporting a new aluminium bilateral beam frame, the WR450F feels lighter, is easier to turn in tight situations and has improved stability both in the bumps and in the air. Progressive, smooth KYB suspension continues to absorb big impacts and the braking performance is now improved.
WR450F is designed to appeal to those born to ride – from professional enduro riders to super capable trail riders.
- Compact Cylinder Head
The WR450F features aggressive cam profiles, a high compression piston with low friction rings, long connection rod, large exhaust head pipe connector, a high-flow air filter, efficient breather system and a compact, lightweight magnesium valve cover.
- Bilateral Beam Frame
The WR450F aluminum frame features flex characteristics that give riders the ultimate combination of precise cornering performance, traction and bump stability. The rigidity balance of the chassis, as well as engine mounts, top triple clamp and front axle increases rider confidence.
- Suspension Tuning
The 2022 WR450F features industry leading KYB™ suspension tuned in concert with the chassis to produce excellent cornering performance, traction and bump absorption. With smooth chassis movement, the rider is able to make the most of the engine's exceptional power with confidence.
- Braking System
A rigid front caliper with large pad surface area aids feel and controllability. The front brake rotor dissipates heat efficiently for consistent performance under racing conditions.
- Multi-Function Enduro Meter
The compact meter has a high-contrast liquid crystal display with a fuel consumption indicator. The meter features two modes: Standard and Race. Standard mode displays the speedometer, two trips meters and clock functions while Race mode features average speed, timer and trip functionality along with low fuel and engine warning lights.

All available with the convenient push-button starting that features a compact starter motor.

The frame is derived from the YZ450F to centralize mass and provide an ideal balance between cornering feel and straight-line confidence.
