The 2019 Yamaha YZ450F is the “bLU cRU’s” flagship motocross bike with a completely revised fuel-injected, titanium-valved engine, updated suspension components, a redesigned frame, different bodywork, and the addition of electric starting. Yamaha also put Wi-Fi on the bike, giving owners the freedom to adjust the fuel and ignition timing with their smartphones using the free-to-download Power Tuner app.
For 2019, the YZ450F has received a number of minor revisions. The changes include stiffer compression damping on the Kayaba fork and shock while retaining the same spring rates as the 2018 model, new front and rear axle wheel collars boasting increased rigidity, new seat foam that is said to be 16-percent stiffer than that of the 2018 model, and a 49-tooth (one tooth larger) rear sprocket. The electric starter was also updated in an effort to reduce drag and power loss.
